Maze Game and Flappy Bird Game Coding

In Digi Tech, I have created 2 games of which I had created by coding. The blocks that I used to create this multi-level game. Such as repeating, turn left, turn right, move forward blocks, etc. It enabled me to move my character to different directions in order for it to go to a different level. I have learned that playing this game was really easy and fun to make, but it just takes a long process to make it a multi-level game.     

Food Tech: Chocolate Cake

The ingredients to make this chocolate cake is:

Step 1: 2 cups of SR Flour

- 1/2 cup of sugar, 2 tsp of cocoa

- 1/2 cup of milk

- 1/2 cup of oil

- 1 egg

- 1 tsp of vanilla essence

Step 2: Mix all the ingredients into one bowl

- butter the baking tin and pour the mixture into the baking tin

- put it in the oven at 180 degrees celsius and cook for 30 mins

Food Technology with Miss Tui'pulotu: Plain Bread

Today in cooking we made Plain Bread with the following ingredients.

Step 1 - In a measuring cup add 2 cups of warm water with one sachet of yeast and mix well

Step 2 - In a bowl add 2 cups of plain flour

- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 2 teaspoon of sugar
- 1/2 cup of oil

Step 3 - Mix all those ingredients and then add the yeast mixture. Stir the mixture till it's combined then pour it into a baking tin with flour on the surface. Knead the mixture till until all the flour is gone from the surface. After that half the bread dough into two and then spray the oil spray onto the baking tin and put the 2 bread doughs inside the oven. Leave it inside the oven for about 20 mins so that it can rise. Then turn on the oven and bake for 180c.

Once you see the bread is golden brown, take it out and let it cool. Enjoy!

Food Tech - Banana Cake

 

Today my buddy and I made this yummy banana cake. We managed to make this scrumptious banana cake which is listed down below:

- banana

- sugar

- 1 egg

- milk

- vanilla essence

- self-raising flour

- baking soda

- butter

Step 1) heat the oven to 180

Step 2) mash banana inside the bowl with a fork

Step 3) cream 3 tbsp of butter with 1/2 cup of sugar (use the wooden spoon to cream the mixture)

Step 4) add 1 egg, 1/2 cup of milk, 1tsp of vanilla essence

Step 5) add 1 1/2 cup of self-raising flour and 1 tsp of baking soda

Mix the combination of ingredients well and pour the mixture inside a lined baking pan. 

Put it inside the oven.

You will know when the banana cake is done when you put a stick through the cake and it comes out clean or when you smell the aroma of the vanilla.

Once cooked take it out the b. cake and put it on the baking rack to cool down. 

Enjoy with any type of toppings of your choice.

Loseli & Olivia English Breakfast

Today in food tech my class made English Breakfast. We are to learn how to make an English breakfast so that we can make it for our families. The ingredients for this delicious breakfast dish are: 

- bread (toasted)

- eggs (scrambled or fried)

- bacon

- sausages

- baked beans

- tomatoes (but not included with the breakfast dish)

Food Class: Basic Burgers

Today in the cooking class my partner and I made basic burgers. The ingredients to make this basic burger are Patties - mix mince, chopped onion, egg, breadcrumbs, salt & pepper. Two Buns and the topping for that are lettuce, tomato and cheese.

Wood Finger Joints

In our wood class, we were to make finger joints using wood to make a serving tray. The tools we used is the wood hammer, steel ruler, tenon saw, tri-square, pieces of wood rectangular, pencil, chisel and I think that is all we used to make our serving tray. It was hard work to make this product. But I managed to get through it by listening carefully to the instructions. Once we have finished making this serving tray, we can take it home to use.

Primary teachers are striking for the first time in 24 years. I agree with Lynda Stuart because striking is a way of protesting because of their pay rise is low and the teachers put their signs up so that they can have support. 

HOW A BILL BECOMES A LAW

Why do we need laws? we need laws so that it can protect our rights, our property, and our people. Because what happens if we didn't have laws. How does a bill become a law? Here are 7 stages on how a bill becomes an Act of Parliament.

1. First of all the bill which is a draft copy is introduced to parliament for discussion.

2. The members of parliament (MPs) debate whether they should keep the draft copy for a select committee or whether it should be rejected.

3. The select committee carefully looks through the bill. Any interested person can submit ideas on the bill to this committee.

4. The bill is returned to the parliament for its second reading, along with the recommendations of the select committee. Members think carefully about the recommendations and decide whether or not the bill will proceed to the "House in Committee".

5.  The bill is voted on clause by clause. This is the last chance to change the bill.

6. The bill has its third and final reading. Another vote is taken.

7. The Governor General signs the bill on behalf of the sovereign and they are now agreeing that it should become an Act of Parliament and therefore one of the laws of our society.

Government Decisions: Ardern hopeful of strong relationship with new Australian PM Scott Morrison

Deputy PM Winston Peters and Andrew Little are concerned about the Deportation of New Zealanders in Australia. Some were deported without a fair trial or have not been charged. I agree that Winston Peters and Andrew Little being concerned about the new official Australian Policy because we allow Australians in New Zealand. This will also impact on our trans tasman relations and will ruin the bilateral relationship. From this, I think that they should both agree with one decision.

Greens target foreign land buyers bottling NZ water in review of Overseas Investment Act

I strongly agree that foreign landowners should not be allowed to sell bottled NZ water overseas. So this means my viewpoint strongly agrees with the Green Party's decision. Why I chose this? because foreign landowners are removing New Zealand's Natural resources, which is water. The foreign landowners can use the water but not sell it to other people overseas for their own benefits. Which includes Marama Davidson's speech saying "The Greens have secured a commitment that the review will consider whether water extraction should be a factor considered when weighing up whether a sale should be approved or not. "We need to ensure that we are not giving away this resource to international corporations to reap profits from at the expense of New Zealand's best interests," Greens co-leader Marama Davidson said.

Banning Plastic Bags

Today I read an article about the MP's (government) deciding whether to ban plastic bags or keep them in the supermarket.  

I disagree with banning plastic bags because some people might need it for rubbish bags and some people need it for shopping needs.

This will have an impact on New Zealanders jobs and household spending. 

Survivor Blog Reflection

What problems did you face?
We faced stranded on an island and making peace with other people on the other side of the island.

How did you solve problems?
By working together to help us survive on the island. Finding food, shelter, sticks to make fire.

Who made the decisions?
Everyone in the group made the decisions.

Was their one person who made most of the decisions? If so why?
One person in the group made most of the decisions because she knew what to do if we were stranded. Kuraia had great ideas and good skills that we knew would help with
 our survival.

How did you decide who will be the leader?
By picking anyone. So they decided to pick me as the leader.

Why did we complete this task?
This is sort of connected to our next topic which is the government. The government communicates with the outside world. They pick who the leader should be for this party and other stuff.

Migration Model

This migration model shows the flows of both mainstream and counterstream flows migration between two countries. The mainstream flow is always larger than the counterstream flow. The mainstream represents the number of people in Tokelau who have no choice but to leave their country. Counterstream represents a little number of people migrating from New Zealand to Tokelau. The obstacles between these two countries is that they don’t want to leave their families behind or the lack of money they have.

Loseli and Vaimoana Food tech

Today in food tech me and my partner Vaimoana made Banana muffins. The skills for this week is to follow the instructions, how to read the instructions and how to measure the ingredients properly. The ingredients for this is 1 and1/2 cup of self raising flour, 1/2 cup of sugar, 1/2 cup of oil, 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon, 1 egg, 1/2 cup of milk. Mix well and serve into 12 muffins.

Food Technology W4

Today in food tech me and my partner Kuraia were making ham and cheese quiche. The skills for this week are to 1. follow the instructions step, 2. how to read the ingredients, 3. how to measure the ingredients right. The ingerdients to make this quiche is to cut the pastry into 9 round pieces, put the muffin tray and add ham and cheese. Whisk 5 eggs, 1 cup of milk and pour it into the muffin tray. After that bake at 180c for 15 minutes.

A Trip to remote Tokelau

As a student traveling back to my homeland. I am noticing the changes and that
my house and other houses is now on a stilts. Seeing all my family members
and relatives all happy and healthy,I can tell that they are really happy to see me. I am
really happy to finish my studies and getting my degrees and bachelor's. In the future
I was planning to come back to Tokelau to help my grandparents and my parents.

My trip back home was brilliant. It was like the first time seeing the nice, clear blue ocean
and seeing the seagulls just flying joyfully. The MV Mataliki was huge and I also met a lot of
new people there that I haven’t seen before in my life. As soon as I step foot on the island. I can
remember every memory I had the last time I came. My uncle picked my up from the wharf and
my grandparents were really excited to see me. The day after this I helped my parents cook our
food and make drinks for the feed. I haven’t had Tokelauan food for 10 years so I couldn't wait to
eat this yummy food. This is my diary entry of me going back to Tokelau.
