Loseli Swimming

Have you ever been taught by an instructor before? Well class 9 and Miss Lavakula went to the Glen Innes Aquatic Center for swimming lessons. We have lessons every day and the past week we are going have swimming this week too.We stayed on the pools for an hour and a half or 30 minutes. Some adults and kids drowned because they can’t swim. New Zealand is surrounded by water that's why we have swimming pools to teach kids how to swim.

Group one have been learning about freestyle. We have to put our hands at the bottom the boards to make us float so we can’t sink. First we put our hands on the bottom, but our arms have to be straight on the board. Second the instructor  tells one person to go at a time. And then we have to do it again back and back to the wall. Third we did rocket arms then we do the same as the freestyle,we have to go back again.

I was tired about swimming because the instructor tells us lots of instructions. But one thing that I have enjoyed was swimming at the Glen Innes Aquatic Center.
If I rush a lot I will get very tired. So next time I hope I can do better then that.

  1. Hi Loseli,
My name is Brionna Brown and I am in EDM310 at the University of South Alabama. I think it is so cool and beneficial that your class has swimming lessons. I really liked my swim classes when I was younger. Good job on your post!

  2. Hi, Loseli, my name is Allison and I am a student in EDM510 at the University of South Alabama in the USA. I am studying to be a teacher and I have been learning to blog this semester. I really enjoyed reading your post about swimming lessons. I think it wonderful that you get to take lessons with your class at school. That must be a lot of fun. I know that swimming always makes me very hungry and I want to eat right after I am done. Does swimming make you hungry? I was really scared of the water when I was little and my parents had to force me to take lessons and it was really scary. I think it would have been much better if I had all of my friends around for support. Have you ever been afraid to do the things that your instructor tells you to do? Do you and your friends help each other if you get scared or are having a hard time learning to do something? I finally learned to swim and I am so glad that I did but I still prefer to just float around on my back. Thanks for sharing your experience with me and keep up the good work!
