A Trip to remote Tokelau
As a student traveling back to my homeland. I am noticing the changes and that
my house and other houses is now on a stilts. Seeing all my family members
and relatives all happy and healthy,I can tell that they are really happy to see me. I am
really happy to finish my studies and getting my degrees and bachelor's. In the future
I was planning to come back to Tokelau to help my grandparents and my parents.

I was planning to come back to Tokelau to help my grandparents and my parents.
My trip back home was brilliant. It was like the first time seeing the nice, clear blue ocean
and seeing the seagulls just flying joyfully. The MV Mataliki was huge and I also met a lot of
new people there that I haven’t seen before in my life. As soon as I step foot on the island. I can
remember every memory I had the last time I came. My uncle picked my up from the wharf and
my grandparents were really excited to see me. The day after this I helped my parents cook our
food and make drinks for the feed. I haven’t had Tokelauan food for 10 years so I couldn't wait to
eat this yummy food. This is my diary entry of me going back to Tokelau.

Social Studies: 2 Key Concepts Globalisation and Modernisation
Today in Social studies I learnt about 2 new concepts. One concept was Globalisation. Globalisation means when business might have more international influence. For example McDonald started in America and now it is worldwide because of the influence they made. The other concept is Modernisation. It means current or modern technology. For example your parents back in the days have written with books and pencils but now in the modern days children are now using computers and chrome books for their work and education.

The Meaning of Anzac Day
Anzac Day is the day when all New Zealanders and Australians come together as a nation to celebrate the remembrance of those who sacrificed their lives when they were in a very young age. On the 25 April is when Anzac day is held. The date itself marks the first landing of the Anzac soldiers in Gallipoli Peninsula in 1915 which is now known as Turkey. On Anzac day people wear red poppies because the day they laid to rest red poppies bloomed over their graves. There is a fact that during the wars more than 11,000 soldiers died at Gallipoli and more than 23,500 were wounded.

Fun time without the Yr 9's
Monday and Tuesday was when all the year 9's went to camp. Accept for me and other year 9's who stayed behind. Some of us stayed because our parents didn't let us go camp and some just didn't want to because camp was boring. But at least we had a fun time. On Tuesday the year 9's who stayed behind was all put in one tutor class. We then had to follow the time table to that tutor class which was 9Psd. First we had double-period English class. The teacher in English class was really cool because we got to watch any movies we wanted to watch. The movie we watched was Bolt. After interval we had Science with our science teacher and PE. I had really fun at PE playing volley and badminton with my classmates. The rest of the day was cool and enjoyed myself with different year 9 classmates.
