This is my finished reading  for this week. The text that me and my reading group have been reading about is called The Rules. Once we have finished answering the questions our next task is to create a question cube for a buddy in our group. We had to think of 6 questions of our own to write on the question cube.

Spitting to Survive

WALT - improve comprehension and understanding of a text

This is my reading presentation that I have completed for week 6. The text that I have been reading is about a snake called a spitting cobra. If this cobra spits in your eye that it will hurt really bad and it will be painful. At the end of the presentation I had to create a new presentation about 10 fun facts of any animal. I chose a tiger.

Here is me and my partners presentation about inferring and reading between the lines. We had to read three texts and think about Who the character might be, What kind of person the character is and How the character is Feeling at that moment. We had use and find clues in the text. once we have completed our work we post to our blog.

Today's reading is about Blast from the Past it is a text about a famous engineer who created the  world's first liquid fuelled rocket. Once my reading group have finished answering the questions. We have to post it to our blogs with a walt in and a task description to explain our learning evidence.

This term our school theme and topic for this term is guardian of the galaxy and we will be learning about space how the moon and other planets are moving around the solar system.

My reading group and I have been reading a text called sniff, swing, swipe. We had to make links between different parts of a text. I was learning about Kea's where they live and other things.

Idea City

WALT - Synthesis ideas from different texts

This is my week 6/7 reading task. My learning intention is to synthesis ideas from different texts. The book that I am reading is called Idea City. This text is about a place in New Zealand named Christchurch that has recently had many earthquakes from the past years and all their stuff they were all gone. Luckily Christchurch has many people that has brilliant ideas. About how to bring back their beloved city.

Chunky Chalks

This is my reading work for wk 5. The text that I am reading is called chunky chalks. It is a story talking about a class who is making the own chalk to use for drawing hopscotches.

Healing Honey

This is my wk 4 reading from last week that I have finished. My literacy class and I have been reading a text about Healing Honey. Our learning intention is to find and identify key information in a text. This text is about healing honey that is made from a manuka tree and given to a company that makes manuka honey. When we have finished answering the questions we then post it on our blog with our learning intention and a task description to explain what our reading is about. 

Unuseless Inventions: Chindogu

 This is my reading task about unuseless inventions. We are learning about Chindogu which in Japanese mean inventions. This is my presentation about the text we are reading called Wonderful Water. We had to answer the following questions our literacy teacher has made and post it to our blog. This text is about a group of students searching around streams and test the water if it was clean or not.

Explanation writing : Why People Need to Drink Water

WALT - Plan for a  piece of explanation writing.
                  - Use the' Title-Introduction-Information-Conclusion (TIIC)
                       structure.

Title	Why People Need to Drink Water
Introduction	Today I am going to explain why people need to drink water and to stay hydrated throughout the days.
Information 1st element	People need to drink water so that they can be hydrated. If you are not hydrated and not drinking water that much. It will lead you to headaches. Humans also need to drink water because it is good for your health and it will help you survive.
Information 2nd element	We also need to drink so that we don’t have high blood pressure, it is also good for your skin to do it’s job of regulating your body temperature through sweating. If you drink more water. It will get out waste quicker.
Information 3rd element	Don’t drink too much water before you will have fatal diseases and it will cause the level of salt, or sodium in your blood to drop low. It is a condition called hyponatremia. That is also called water intoxication.
Conclusion	This is the end of my writing and I hope you've got more ideas of why water is good for you and why drinking too much water is not good for you.

This is my writing template that I have finished from week 3. I have to write an explanation about why people need to drink water.

Today I have posted my reading presentation about water wise. My reading group Matai has been reading about water cycles and where water comes from. We had to answer the following questions and answer them. This is now my finished presentation.

Explosions

Success Criteria: I can make links between the multiple resources I access to determine what is a physical or chemical change?

This presentation is about explosions. Our group Dr Seuss and all the other groups had to read 5 texts and write one sentence per text. We had to answer the following questions and post it to our blogs with our learning intention.

This week is week 2 and my teacher Miss Clark and my literacy group Dr Seuss's have been learning about Solids, Liquids and Gases. This is what we are learning about for out topic which is called Ch, ch, ch, ch, Changes. Our learning intention is to synthesise information from multiple sources. Our following activity was a discussion document and a padlet we had to work on. First we had to get in as a group so we can discuss what matter is and what it is made of. 

The first activity we had to do was to make a copy of discussion doc and write stuff about the state of matter. We then had to work on this doc with a partner or in 3 and we had to give three examples of each state of matter. When that was finish we had to make a padlet and answer the following question. Remake of what does Physical form mean? We then answer the question and we had to post it to our blog.
