Fiafia Reflection 2014

When I arrived at Fiafia I was soo excited because lots of parents came and watched their children perform. I was nervous to go up the stage at first. But I was confident at what I learned from my tutor Priscila Tui.My group did well but some of the girls didn’t listen. That tutor said that I was a good at dancing and when I came to school some of the parents said that I was awsome too. I think I performed well and I was a little bit shy.Our costumes were a material lavalava and two sticks covered with feathers and a black ribbon with a shell in the middle that goes around our necks.

My favourite group was the Senior Samoan girls and boys because I like it when they dance the siva and it was soo great. My friends sister Rowana made me happy from doing the dance and she was my favourite dancer of the night.

I feel happy about yesterday because my family said that I was a good dancer. What I’m hoping for next time is to be proud of myself and to represent my culture.

Our fiafia is at April the 9th of Wednesday. The fiafia is going to be on the school field.

What I like about Fiafia is when you are representing your culture and giving hearts to them. Next time I hope to join Fiafia is the samoan group because my great grandma is samoan. I like being I’m in the senior Tongan girls. This special dance is called
Funga sia.

Do you know how to swim?

Introduction:
Do you know how to swim? Learning how to swim is important because children can’t swim. Lots of people and kids drown accidentally, thats why we have swimming pools to teach them.

Paragraph Two:
One of the reasons why swimming is important because New Zealand has one of the worst drowning rates in the world.Twenty five percent of children age 0-10 don’t know how to swim because they don’t go to the swimming pools.

Paragraph Three:
New Zealand is a small country.New zealand is surrounded by beaches, swimming pools,rivers.streams,lakes.During summers families sometimes hang around the swimming pools or at the beaches when they are very hot.

Conclusion:
Learning how to swim is important in New Zealand. Children don’t know how to swim because they never been to the swimming pools long time ago.If they are at the swimming pools and they don’t know how to swim they must go to an instructor to teach them how to swim properly.

Pinecones

It was all in my head...

Frozen in amazement as I watch the terror before me unfold.’Ahh’ I screamed.Butterflies fluttered in my stomach as my head throbbed in agony.Wishing for this to be over I opened my eyes as the rollercoaster was over.
